Samsung Galaxy Note 3 And Galaxy Gear Launched in India for Rs 49,990 And Rs 22,900

    Samsung has now officially launched its Galaxy Note 3 phablet in Indian markets at an event in Delhi today. Apart form this, the company also launched its Galaxy Gear smartwatch which works as a companion device with certain high end Galaxy smartphones like the Note 3 or others which will be running on Android 4.3.

    Pricing and Availability

    The most important part, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will retail at a price of Rs. 49,900; while the Galaxy Gear is priced at Rs. 22,990. Both devices will be available at retail outlets from September 25, 2013. The two new products have been available for pre-order for a while now.

     

    Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Key Specifications 

    Starting off with its design, the Note 3 is thinner, lighter and features a slimmer bezel than its predecessor. The new handset features a dimension of 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm and a weight of 168g. Samsung has given the phone a soft leather back, allowing it to feel like a diary. This change makes the handset feel more luxurious and well built despite its use of plastic.

    Just like the other members of Samsung's Galaxy Note series, this one uses a new and improved S Pen. At IFA Berlin 2013, it was noted that Samsung spent a lot of time explaining some of the new Air Command features in the user interface that are built around the S Pen stylus. The feature opens up a pallet of five tools which allow for a variety of quick and useful functions like storing away pieces of text or media for future reference with a simple one-step actions.

    Moving onto specs, Galaxy Note 3 is powered by an eight-core Exynos 5 Octa processor along with 3GB of RAM. There's a rich 5.7-inch full HD resolution Super AMOLED display. The Galaxy Note 3 comes with 32GB of internal storage in India which can be further expanded using a microSD card up to 64GB. For imaging, it sports a 13 megapixel rear camera with Smart Stabilization and high CRI LED flash. Move up front and you'll find a secondary 2 megapixel front facing camera for those selfies and video chats. The device feeds off a 3,200 mAh battery.

    In terms of the software the phablet comes pre-loaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Samsung has also packed in its homemade Knox mobile security app which happens to be an enterprise and consumer security service. The Galaxy Note 3 will come in three colors, Black, Pink and White.

    Samsung Galaxy Gear - Key Specifications

    Samsung Galaxy Gear features a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. Under the hood, there is a single core 800MHZ processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. It comes in six colors. The watch uses a 1.9-mega pixel camera with a BSI sensor that allows for 10-second 720p HD video recording. Samsung promises up to 25+ hours of battery backup thanks to the device's 315mAh non-removable battery.

    Samsung has also announced that Gaalxy Note 3 customers using Vodafone 2G services will get 2 months of free Internet on Vodafone 3G/2G/EDGE networks.
