Samsung Galaxy S3: Android Jelly Bean Update Begins to Roll Out Again in India After Bug Fix
In the second week of November, Indian tech media was abuzz with the good news that Samsung Galaxy S3 users were finally getting Android Jelly Bean OTA update on their smartphones.
However, suddenly after two weeks since the Android 4.1 OTA update was released, it was barred. On that, Samsung India confirmed through an email that the company found some bugs in the update which could cause harm to the Indian handset users. Moving ahead, Samsung clarified that will try to fix the technical issue as quickly as possible and get the update ready for release soon.
As promised, the South Korean giant has made the update available again via Samsung Kies software. Informed by Gizbot loyal readers, Android 4.1 update is rolling out again, however, when we tried to do an OTA update, we received automatic software update message, which said that, “Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later.”
Which means, the update is in process, hence some users might receive the OTA update in coming days. At the same time, Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 users in India is available via Samsung Kies with a file size of 290MB.
The Android 4.1 update for Samsung Galaxy S3 will inlcude the below listed features:
- New Live Camera
- Camcorder Filters
- Optimized indoor and low-light photos
- Pop-up Play picture can be easily resized
- Ability to disable incoming calls, LED indicators and other notifications for a period of time
In the meantime, users can check for the update manually from Settings → About → Software update.
