Samsung India Invite: 5 Possible Galaxy Smartphones Tipped for Launch on February 14

This Valentine's Day, Samsung will show all its gratitude to the brand lovers in India, with the launch of a new smartphone on the special occasion. Just, last evening the South Korean tech giant has send out invites to the India tech media for a surprise event scheduled on February 14, 2013 in New Delhi.

Well, it looks to be a mysterious invite, as it doesn't gives much hint on the upcoming handset's look and feel, but it does includes a tagline "Now your world is open".

Already Samsung is drawing a lot of spotlight these days for its upcoming smartphone launches spotted in various benchmarks and image leaks. Lately, reports also claimed that the company plans to launch more than 10 smartphones in this quarter of 2013. Following which few handsets including Galaxy Pop, Galaxy Xcover2 and more have already been unveiled over last week, in specific international market.

Talking about new releases on Indian shores, recently, the Galaxy Grand phablet hit the market, priced at Rs 12,500. Already, last year, heavyweight like S3 and Note 2 have graced the Indian retail shelves.

So now, which are the ones awating Indian boundary foray and also have the highest possibilities to get unwrapped next week? Introduced a couple of days ago, as a part of pre-MWC 2013 launches, Galaxy Young is one handset which Samsung could bring to the Indian markets to take on the budget sensitive market.

Specwise, Young is build as an affordable handset packing 3.2-inch display with resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a single core 1GHz processor, 3.0MP rear camera, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS and 1,300mAh battery. Further, the handset also supports dual SIM feature.

Galaxy Fame

Launched alongside Galaxy Young, Galaxy Fame is one the options which looks very similar to the handset displayed in the invite picture. Reportedly, it has been a long time since Samsung has launched any budget handset with decent specs. Hence hypothetically the launch of the recently unveiled Galaxy Young are high.

On the specifications front the handset boasts a 3.5-inch display, 5MP rear camera, VGA front facing camera, 1GHz single core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 512MB RAM, Wi-Fi, 3G, 2G, A-GPS, optional NFC and a 1,300 mAh battery. Like Samsung Galaxy Young, Fame is also a dual SIM smartphone.

Galaxy Xcover 2

Long time, Samsung has not launched a rugged smartphone in India to beat the likes of Nokia handsets, hence guesses are also guzzling around the recently introduced Galaxy Xcover 2.

Positioned by the company as a sturdy handset, Galaxy Xcover 2 is equipped with 4.0 inch WVGA display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 5MP, VGA front camera, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, 1GHz dual core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot and a 1,700 mAh battery. Further, being a rugged smartphone, XCover 2 can resist dust and water.

Galaxy Express

Out of all the handsets, Galaxy Express is one the handsets which was announced by the Smartphone King S3 creator last month. But possibilities are lowest that Samsung will launch this handset, as it is very similar to Galaxy Grand in terms of specifications and build.

Galaxy Express features a 4.5-inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8GB internal memory, micro SD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, 4G LTE, NFC and a 2,000mAh battery.

Galaxy S3 Mini

Last but not the least, tech gossipers around the world are chattering that highest chances are that Samsung will unbox the proud younger kin of best selling smartphone in the world right now Galaxy S3, that is, Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini.

Besides the Galaxy Fame, the invite displaying the svelte silhouette of a smartphone is also being predicted as resembling to Galaxy S3 mini reportedly. Supporting the same, BGR reports have also claimed that when the folks over there, asked about the release of Galaxy S3 mini on the sidelines of Galaxy Grand event, the company official confirmed that the smartphone will arrive soon.

Concerning with the specs, Galaxy S3 Mini sports a 4 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, dual core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB or 16GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, 5MP rear camera with LED flash and VGA front facing camera for video calling. Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the smartphone comes packed with connectivity features including Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and a 1,500 mAh Li-ion battery.

The latest bit from Gizbot end is that the handset is already available for pre-order on online retailer site Tradus.com for a price of Rs 20,790.
