Samsung Galaxy S4water and dust proof variant, the rugged - Galaxy S4 J Active codenamed SGH-I537 is believed to be heading towards the US market. Just last week, the handset was spotted in the GFX Benchmark site and now with the advent of this week, the first image of the device has leaked.

Yes, the folks at GSMArena have got the first real images of Galaxy S4 Active in red and it definitely looks fantastic.

The report has also mentioned citing inside source that the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will sport an 8MP rear camera, "which is a downgrade from the 13MP sensor of the Galaxy S4."

Ongoing reports in the past have also suggested that the phone would be unveiled in a matter of weeks. This new "rugged" version of Samsung Galaxy S4 called Samsung Galaxy S4 J Active is reported to feature 5.0-inch 1080p display. It is said to have TouchWiz running over Android and keep the FHD screen with pixel density of the phone is 480ppi.

The major difference (besides the water and dust proofing, of course) is that the "rugged" version of the new Android flagship model is expected to have a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus(MSM8960) processor tuned to 1.9GHz.

There is a high chance for Samsung Galaxy S4 J Active to use this processor because most of the rugged phones use Snapdragon S4 instead of a Snapdragon 600 or an Exynos 5 Octa. Pricing of the device has not been revealed and it is unknown which markets will be receiving the "rugged" version of the flagship Android handset.
