Samsung's Galaxy S4 has started receiving Android 4.3 Jelly Bean updates, making it the first non-Nexus phone since the Galaxy Note 3 to run the latest OS version.

According to the company's site, Germany will be the first country that will start receiving the update since it is being rolled out in phases. Other countries and device variants will be receiving the update soon. Android 4.3 is reportedly available both OTA or over the air and via the Kies software from Samsung.
So how will your Galaxy S4 be different after the update? Owing to higher benchmark scores and faster speeds that have been seen in reports, the Galaxy S4 should be a more finely tuned device. One of the most awaited features that the update will bring is integrated support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. There will also be support for ANT+ and Open GL 3.0 . Apart from this, Samsung has taken the update as an opportunity to add some new apps and services including its own Samsung Wallet and Samsung Knox for security. There will also be some minor tweaks and changes to the UI, keyboard and browser.
Talking about the handset, Galaxy S4 sales worldwide fell to 5 million in August after reaching a peak of 7 million in June, said a new report from CounterPoint Research. But it goes on to add that despite this drop, the Galaxy S4 is still the world's best selling phone as of August 2013. However, given that the new iPhones launched in the following month, we expect the dynamics to have changed. Interested in knowing what other handsets were in the top ten list?
