Samsung Galaxy S4: S3 Successor to Debut in MWC 2013
Samsung the South Korean tech giant made all the heads turn towards it with the unveiling of the Galaxy S3, its latest flagship smartphone in May. Its not more than four months and now the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer is again in news regarding the S3 successor – Samsung Galaxy S4.
As per a recent report by The Korean Times, the next Galaxy S – S4 will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress 2013, which is to between February 25 to 28, 2013 and it will start shipping as early as March.
The report quotes an anonymous official stating, “Samsung is ready to unveil the next Galaxy smartphone _ the Galaxy S4 _ at early next year’s mobile world congress (MWC) in the Spanish city of Barcelona.’’
It also went on suggesting a few early predictions regarding this rumored smartphones including a larger 5 inch OLED display (an upgrade from the 4.8 inch screen in S3) and the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. Further, Galaxy S4 will have a quad core processor and it is believed by tech experts to be the ARM Cortex A15, which is upcoming.
When it comes to the 5 inch displays on smartphones, it is in theory as Pantech, another South Korea based handset manufacturer proved this by unveiling its Vega S5 smartphone with such a large display.
The official revealing the information to the source has also mentioned that the S4 will be more powerful and will be compatible with the LTE networks to curb the iPhone 5.
“Samsung wants to keep its one-year product schedule and the Galaxy S4 will be the first to match that strategy” a local Samsung partner told the Korean newspaper. “The S4 will see some external changes but retain its popular rectangular shape with rounded corner concept.”
Industry experts and analysts consider the S4 as a “clear message’’ to its rival – Apple. Moreover, the Galaxy S4 is believed by analysts to take over the world’s most valuable company, even in US, where Apple is a dominator.
Well till now, all of this is just a rumor, similarly it happened during MWC 2012, when the tech world anticipated that Samsung will launch S3 at the Barcelona event, however Samsung held its own press conference in May to announce the Galaxy S3 smartphone.
Although, if the rumors turn out to be true, then the launch of Samsung Galaxy S4 will actually sizzle the ongoing battle between Apple and the South-Korean giant and other Android heavyweights in the market.
