Samsung Galaxy S5 Listed for Purchase in India at Rs 45,500
With the recent MWC 2014 event come and gone, few of the highlights of the event include announcements from the likes of Samsung, Sony and Nokia. And while we still ponder about the devices we got to see at the event, none made a bigger impact compared to the Samsung Galaxy S5.
Samsung, as of now, has already announced that the Galaxy S5 will be available starting April 11 in over 150 countries. And while that looks quite promising for fans all over the world, it seems like quite a surprise awaits the fans looking to buy the smartphone, based in India.
A month ahead of the expected time frame, Indian e-commerce store Saholic has already made the Galaxy S5 available for purchase. But that's not all. The retailer has also guaranteed delivery of the handset by March 7. The site even states clearly that users will be eligible to receive a fee of Rs.50 for every day in case the order is delayed after the claimed date of delivery.
Noticed first via SamMobile, the Galaxy S5 has been currently listed in India with the 16 GB variant currently listed at Rs. 45,500, which is comparatively low when compared to retailer listings from the UK or Germany.
Stay tuned to GizBot for more updates.
Going through the in-device specifications, the Galaxy S5 comes with a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with a swappable back cover. The device is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. It runs on Android v4.4 KitKat OS along with the newly re-created TouchWiz UI.
The S5 offers a a 16-megapixel primary camera sensor (contrary to the popular rumors related to a 20 MP camera) that features UHD recording capability and real-time HDR for both photos and videos. There is also a 2.1MP front-facing snapper.
The device comes with an external microSD card slot and a removable 2,800mAh battery. It is IP67-certified, meaning it is water and dust resistance device. There are IR remote, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 BLE/ANT+ and Cat 4 LTE (speeds up to 150Mbps down/50Mbps up). Users have the option of choosing a variant that's either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. Also, users can add up to 64GB externally via a microSD card for further memory expansion.
