Samsung has been rumored to come with a number of devices in the near future. These devices include the foldable display-featuring tablet, Galaxy S5 Prime or the Galaxy F and mini variant of the Galaxy S5.
Now confirming the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini, a host of images have been spotted online, courtesy SamMobile. Moreover, these images also include a comparison shot which shows the Galaxy S5 mini and Galaxy S5 in the same image. Also you can see the image of the AnTuTu Benchmark score of the phone as well.
Apparently, the Galaxy S5 mini uses the same design language of the original Galaxy S5. Moreover, Samsung has also chosen to use the dimpled back panel and you can also see the heart-rate monitor is in the same place: below the camera module.
According to SamMobile, the source also said that the device will come with a IP67 certification for water and dust protection. But since the images don't show a protective cover on the microUSB slot which are present in the Galaxy S5 smartphone, it is pretty hard to believe that it is water and dust-resistant.
So far, culminating the leaks and rumors pertaining to the specs of the handset, the mini version of the Galaxy S5 smartphone will come with 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a HD resolution. It will be protected by a Gorilla Glass 3 as well.
It will be powered by the Exynos 3 quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz and Mali-400 MP4 GPU coupled with 1.5GB of RAM. It will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat along with the latest TouchWiz UI.
Other specs of the handset include an 8MP rear camera, a 2.1MP front snapper, 16GB expandable storage, fingerprint scanner and heart-rate monitor. IN the connectivity aspect, you will get an LTE support along with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, IR blaster, GPS with GLONASS options.
However, the battery capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini is not yet revealed but yes, there will be the Ultra Power Saving Mode, Kids Mode, Private Mode, KNOX, among others.
Samsung is reportedly said to launch the handset at the upcoming Galaxy press event, where it will probably launch its much rumored Galaxy Tab S lineup. The event is scheduled for June 12.
