Samsung Galaxy S6 To Pack 2,600mAh Battery [ REPORT]

|

Smartphone battery life is very important when it comes to customers deciding which handset to but. After all what good is a powerful phone if barely lasts you half the day, right? Now we're sure many of you guys are wondering what kind of battery will Samsung pack in the upcoming Galaxy S6, and if you were hoping for larger, which would be the natural progression, you might be disappointed.

According to new rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to come with a 2,600mAh battery under its hood. Isn't that disappointing? Yes, because not only was the Galaxy S5's battery larger, but a 2,600mAh battery basically brings it back to the Galaxy S4 days.

Not to forget, there are also rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S6 could pack a higher resolution of the QHD variety, versus the Galaxy S5 which was still Full HD. The higher resolution display also means that more power will be needed to drive it, so packing in a smaller battery doesn't make much sense.

However Samsung did announce their new Exynos 7 chipsets which the Galaxy S6 is rumored to use, and if Samsung's claims about it being more power-efficient than 20nm-built chips, perhaps the difference in battery size could be offset, but either way we would have preferred a larger battery at the end of the day. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us during Samsung's MWC 2015 event for the details.
