When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Gear last year, the South Korean tech giant received a lot of criticism from the tech enthusiasts. Taking the critiques, the company came out with a successor model under the same series. And this time, Samsung unveiled three variants including the Gear 2 and Gear Fit and Gear Neo.

Out of which we have already unboxed and reviewed Gear Fit, but now its time for Samsung Gear 2, which is the newest member in our studio, and we've unboxed it for your viewing experience.

While, Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit is the cheaper one, when compared to Gear 2 but, the former one is beautiful and classy when it comes to design and built. But in the end, Gear Fit is just a fitness accessory, while Gear 2 has much more in its basket of offerings.

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 looks quite traditional and also features a heart rate monitor, accelerometer and a gyroscope, which are to be found on Gear Fit. But compared to its predecessor it can do a lot more in terms of performance, especially when it comes with a 2-megapixel camera and a dual-core processor. Further, to get the Gear 2 working, one will need to boot up the Gear Manager app on the Galaxy S5.

The Gear 2 is the successor of the first Galaxy Gear, that was introduced at the IFA 2013. Unlike the first Android-based Galaxy Gear, the Gear 2 runs on Tizen OS, optimized for wearable devices. It uses the same1.63 inch (320 x 320 pixels) Super AMOLED display that we had seen on the Gear.

It has a 2-megapixel camera capable of recording 720p HD videos and is powered by 300mAh battery. Moreover, you will also find a number of additional hardware used in the device like the heart-rate sensor, camera, IRBlaster, 4GB internal memory and more.
