Samsung Launches Galaxy S5 With 4G LTE Support in India at Rs 53,500
Over the past few days, there were reports that Samsung might launch the Galaxy S5 LTE in India any time soon. After much waiting and rumors, South Korean giant Samsung has finally launched the LTE-variant of the S5 in the country. With an aim to recapture consumers' minds, Samsung reintroduces the Galaxy S5 (sort of) in the Indian market.
The world's biggest smartphone maker has been a trend setter when it comes to latest and premium devices. Market expectations for the new S5 are quite high, and with the LTE-variant the company could re-establish its lost sheen in the premium segment.

The Galaxy S5 4G is powered by the Qualcomm 8974 Pro 2.5 GHz processor and supports eight 4G LTE bands. In fact Samsung and Airtel have an exclusive tie up and are making a special data offer to Samsung S5 customers. According to a new offer, all existing and new Airtel 4G subscribers will get 5GB 4G data/month free for 2 months.
The Galaxy S5, which first went on sale in April, has a slightly bigger screen than its predecessor, at 5.1 inches (FHD) compared with 5 inches. As mentioned earlier, it is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of on-board storage, which can be expanded upto 128GB via a microSD card slot.
The device also has an improved imaging optics, a 16MP rear-facing camera, alongside a 2MP front facing shooter. The handset also has a fingerprint scanner on the home button, which rival Apple's iPhone 5S. The Galaxy S5 4G is powered by Android 4.4.2 Kitkat, and has a large 2800mAh battery inside.
"We are excited to introduce our first 4G variant of the Galaxy S5 in India with a powerful processor, stunning display and faster connectivity for an unmatched user experience. We expect the 4G version to catch the imagination of technology enthusiasts and professionals, who demand superior smartphones for their heavy multimedia content consumption," said, Asim Warsi, Vice President - Marketing, Mobile & IT, Samsung India
The Samsung Galaxy S5 4G comes in Copper Gold, Charcoal Black and Shimmery White colour options, and is priced at Rs. 53,500. The Galaxy S5 4G device will also come with the Rs. 10,000 upgrade offer to allow consumers to upgrade to the fastest 4G device. Additionally, the device will be available in all 4G service enabled markets in India from July 20 onwards.
