With the festive season fast approaching, Samsung decided it to launch a new big-ticket smartphone in India. South Korean giant is likely to launch its Galaxy Alpha - a premium metallic smartphone, later this week.
The Galaxy Note 4 maker is hosting an event in Delhi on September 27, where it will unleash the iPhone 6 rival. GizBot has received a press invite, reading, "Samsung will introduce the 'Next Generation Stylephone".
It's clear that Samsung will launch the latest iteration of its popular premium smartphone. But it's unclear whether they will unveil the Galaxy Alpha or the Note 4 smartphone.
We are not, however, expecting the Note 4 to make an appearance at the September 27 event. Instead, Samsung will likely hold a separate event in October, just ahead of the Apple iPhone 6 India launch sometime in late October.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha - Highlighted Specifications
Spec-wise, though, the Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch HD display. It is powered by an Exynos 5 Octa 5430 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of non-expandable storage. There's a 12MP rear-facing camera with auto focus and LED Flash. Also, add a 2.1MP front shooter. Unlike the Galaxy S5, this very phone isn't water proof. The makers have added a 1860mAh battery fitted inside.
Unlike Samsung's usual high-end phones, the Galaxy Alpha is entirely different with more emphasis given on physical appearance, rather than just internal hardware. The metal crafted handset is made to address the complaints that customers have expressed about the low-quality Samsung-made phones.
