South Korean tech giant Samsung landed its monster handsets, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 in India just yesterday. While, Galaxy Mega 5.8 is already on pre order at a price of Rs 24,100 on online retailer sites, but at the same time there was no sight on Mega 6.3 anywhere. Sony had just announced that the price of the handset would be Rs 31,490 and it would hit the shelves by June.
While, the release date was unknown till now, the handset's 8GB variant has been listed on Saholic with a coming soon tag and also claiming that the device will be available for purchase from June 25. To recap on the specs, Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 I9200 8GB is an Android Jelly Bean phablet, sporting a 6.3 inch capacitive touch screen with a pixel resolution of 1280x720pp.
The device is powered by 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor and supported by 1.5GB RAM. Further, Galaxy Mega 6.3 has a 8MP rear camera with Autofocus, Geotagging, Video recording, smile detection, face detection, touch focus and LED Flash and has a 1.9MP front facing camera for video chat and self portrait.
The Galaxy Mega 6.3 has the internal storage capacity of 8GB which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD. For connectivity, there is support for Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0(BLE). There's USB 2.0 port and GPS+GLONASS, NFC and MHL are supported too. The device is powered by Li-Ion 3200 mAh battery.
Other features include A-GPS support, music player, social networking & IM clients. The phone also has accelerometer and sensors for RGB light, Geomagnetic, Proximity and a Gyroscope.
