One another smart phone model from Samsung is in the manufacturing stage and the tech world is getting leaked news about the same for some time now. The new model is termed as Samsung Epic 4G 2 or Samsung SPH-D705.
This phone will be a sequel to the original Samsung Epic 4G. Even though one another model termed as the Samsung Epic 4G Touch has been released it will have nothing to do with that model. This mobile is actually an improved version of the Samsung Galaxy SII brought about by the carrier Sprint.
The news about this phone gained momentum when there was a picture of the phones name was leaked. Sprints version of the machine displayed Samsung Epic 4G 2. This means that the handset will be launched soon.
Last August, another website has posted an image which was claimed to be that of the Samsung Epic 4G 2.
At that time the website said that the mobile would be released by the end of the year. Many tech enthusiasts as well as prospective buyers where waiting to get any official announcement from the company regarding the release of the phone. But they were disappointed since no such announcements were made and the device was not launched in the expected time limit.
The specifications where assumed to be a minor refresh of the original handset. Even though many other cutting edge features where rumoured there was no back up statements for the same. The phone was expected to sport a 4 inch display that packs in sufficient resolution for its size.
A single core processor would power it and the processor would be clocked at about 1.2 GHz. The original phone had camera resolution of 5 mega pixels and the new one will get a major camera upgrade and would sport an 8 mega pixels camera.
Also the handset would look entirely different from the picture which was posted many months back. The processor might get bumped to a dual core one and so might others specification too. What Samsung has in store for its users is yet to be found out.
