Sharp Aquos Phone
It's remarkable how the cell phone has evolved through the years. Once they used to be large ubiquitous handsets with external antenna that looked more like wireless radios. Then from the mid-90s, amazing scientific innovations in microchips and graphics were made that made mobile phones more desirable and compact.

Reliable models from Nokia, Samsung, Philips and Sony Ericsson (to name a few) reinforced the notion that the cell phone could be a vital means of communication that can be relied upon. But as consumers started getting bored with cell phones that offered nothing more than a few games as entertainment options, manufacturers started introducing entertainment, music and camera phones.

The Internet revolution along with the amazing mobility of computers such as laptops and notebooks sparked in manufacturers the need to create Internet-equipped mobile phones that can also perform some functions that a laptop or PC would. The smartphone was born. Since then, smartphone launches have become eagerly anticipated events. Each new launch inaugurates a quantum leap in technology and features.

Softbank, the Japanese carrier, has announced the Sharp Aquos 102SH, the world's first Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone, for the Japanese market. This is a really attractive slim smartphone powered by TI OMAP4460 dual-core 1.5GHz processor and loaded with the Google Android 2.3.5 operating system. All set for a debut in the spring of 2012, this Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone promises much and comes on the back of the other Softbank announcements - that of Sharp Aquos 102SH and other smart models from Dell and Panasonic.

Speeds for the Aquos 104SH could be higher than 21Mbps, which means it opens up many entertainment and business options including uploading and recording high definition videos using its 12.8 megapixel camera. Other entertainment options include GSM/WCDMA tri-band radios, which means you, can listen to your favorite stations wherever you head to in the world. Its 1280x720-pixel high definition 4.5-inch TFT LCD display brings amazing clarity. To top it all, it's got truly attractive proportions and equally eye-catching orange and blue colors.

The Sharp Aquos 102SH has similar display proportions to the 104SH, but is paired with a dual-core 1GHz processor and loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread software. This will be launched in December 2011 and will feature GSM as well as CDMA connectivity options with data speeds reaching 21Mbps downlink.

Sharp Aquos 104SH runs on GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS1800 and UMTS2100 cellular networks and HSPA+, HSUPA, HSDPA, UMTS and GPRS data links. It provides 64-chord melody for the call alert. It provides TransFlash, microSD and microSDHC memory expansion slots. It offers Bluetooth 3.0 wireless as well as USB 2.0, 480Mbit/s connectivity. Its wireless LAN specifications are 802.11b, 802.11g and 802.11n.

Softbank has not announced the price in India tags for these amazing Sharp Aquos phones yet.
