YotaPhone With Dual Display Launched in India at Rs 23,499

Russian mobile broadband services provider and smartphone manufacturer - Yota has today officially launched its dual-screen featuring smartphone - the YotaPhone in India at a surprising price of Rs. 23,499.

Since, Jumbo Electronics, IT telecom and consumer electronics retailer and distributor in the UAE, has partnered with Flipkart, to launch the device in India, YotaPhone will be exclusive to the online retailer. Talking about the availability, the tempting device will start selling from October 17th.

YotaPhone: Key Specifications

The YotaPhone features a 4.3-inch 720p primary LCD display and a 4.3-inch (360×640 pixels) EPD rear screen, 16 grayscale which has a capacitive touch zone below the EPD for gesture controls. The device comes with a Put2Back applications for the back screen.

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz complimented by 2GB of RAM.

The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean version with special YotaPhone gestures and Put2Back applications for the back screen. Internal storage capacity comes with 32GB and imaging segment is taken care by a 13-megapixel primary camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 1-megapixel front facing snapper.

In terms of connectivity, regular features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/AGPS and 4G LTE / 3G can be found. Other than that, there are presence of a number of sensors like Accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, proximity and ambient light sensor. The device which measures 133.6 x 67 x 9.99mm and 146g draws its energy from a 1800mAh battery.

Abdul Karim Sawan, Vice President for Yota Devices (Middle East and India), said, "YotaPhone features an electronic paper display that would work as a second screen, making it possible to deliver an array of new and improved user experiences. It combines a smartphone and e-reader into one device for those who enjoy reading on-the-go even in the brightest sunlight."

He further added, " You can save images and information on the second screen, and it stays there, even if you lose battery power. You can save anything on the always-on display from a map to a boarding pass. Information, like a missed call or meeting reminder, stays on the always-on screen until it is no longer needed."
