Nokia Lumia 920, Samsung Galaxy S3, Grand, Sony Xperia Z And Panasonic P51 Get Price Cut in India
The smartphone market so far has been going through a lot because of the advent of new similar devices every once in a while. The already crowded smartphone arena in India has made most of the mobile phone brands follow a different schemes and plans to sell their devices.
In the near past we witnessed the Apple's iPhone discount for student with Rs. 7,000 discount and few weeks after that it was BlackBerry Curve 9220 and Z10 which adopted EMI Scheme to sell their devices.
Samsung did the same few months back and now there is a trend of giving a direct discount. Sometimes before the release of the new model, mobile manufacturers tend to give discounts to the previous model to make a ground for the new device to run.

Nokia Lumia 920
There are various reasons for smartphone price drop, specially after a month or more of its release. It is not an unusual trend but there are brands that cut down their handset prices just to prepare the ground for the new device to launch. Nokia Lumia 920, may have the same case.
The smartphone which was launched at the price of Rs. 36,000 has reduced to Rs. 31,999 at a couple of online retailers and what makes the deal even better is that both Flipkart and Infibeam are also throwing in the Nokia DT-900 wireless charging plate at no extra cost.
To summarize on the specs of Nokia Lumia 920, it has 4.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 along with Nokia ClearBlack technology. The handset is powered by dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz and backed by 1GB of RAM. Also, the device had 8.7 megapixel camera on the rear with PureView technology and capable of Full HD video capture, and it has 1.3 megapixel front facing snapper that is capable of 720p video recording. The device has 32GB of internal storage without any option of expanding though, and Nokia Lumia 920 is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery to the smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy S3, the best seller of 2012, is another one to have a price cut down. The Samsung Galaxy S3 which was previously available for Rs. 30,345 is now available for as low as Rs.26,649 online from Snapdeal.com.
It was reported that a local retailer was seen selling the same device for as low as Rs. 26,000 without bargaining. It also suggests that it could go lesser than Rs.26,000 after a bargain if one is ready to do so. At this price point the S3 seems like a great device because the specifications of the device seem more than great for this price point.
To recap on specs the device sports a 4.8 inch HD super amoled display protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 2. This phone supports a display resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels. The Galaxy S3 runs on Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich operating system, and now has been upgraded to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It is powered by the Exynos 4412 Quad-Core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 and Mali 400 graphics processor unit, supported by a 1 GB RAM. The phone comes in two storage options of 16 GB and 32 GB and sports a primary camera of 8 megapixel and a secondary camera of 1.9 megapixel.
Samsung Galaxy Grand
The South Korean giant is cutting down the price of Galaxy Grand as well. Recently it was seen a drop on the price of the 5 inch Samsung Galaxy Grand. The dual SIM phone which was available at an official price of Rs. 21,500, recently showed up again with a drop in its price to about Rs. 20,000. The phone was also spotted at Saholic at even lesser price of Rs. 19,989.
The Galaxy Grand comes with a free Flip Cover and 50 GB or free space at Dropbox. The phone powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual core processor sports Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean operating system in combination with the TouchWiz user interface. It has an 8 megapixel primary rear camera with Auto Focus, Geo-tagging, Touch Focus, Face and Smile Detection, Image Stabilization and Image Editor.
Sony Xperia Z
Sony Xperia is a one of the happening devices when it comes to 'being different". The phone has also witnessed a minimum cut down on pricing. Xperia Z that was officially selling at the price of Rs. 38,990 was seen at Saholic at Rs. 37,990. There is a slight Rs. 1,000 difference in the pricing but to those who desperately want it, this is a right time to visit the nearest stores.
Talking about specs it runs on Android Jelly Bean. The smartphone that comes with a 5 inch full HD Reality Display houses a 13.1 MP camera, equipped with Exmor RS sensor and HDR technology that ensures best shots. The front and back panels of the phone are made of durable tempered glass. The device is engineered with the Sony USP feature which is resistant to water and dust, which adds to its durability. Xperia Z is powered by 1.5GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and is supported by 2GB RAM. Other features include Adreno 320 GPU, LTE/4G, NFC, Wi-Fi, 3G, 16GB flash memory, 32GB expansion, and 2330 mAh battery.
Panasonic P51
Panasonic P51 was not a big surprise when it was launched. With the price tag of Rs. 26,990 Panasonic P51 was actually expected a price drop soon but but now less than two week of its announcement the P51 is available for a discounted price of Rs 22,390 at online retailer Infibeam. Even in Saholic Panasonic P51 retains the same price. More over adding to the offer they are also offering a free magnetic flip-cover and a stylus along with the P51.
Recollecting the specs, Panasonic P51 has a 5-inch display with a 720p resolution (1280 x 720 pixels). It's powered by a quad-core MediaTek 1.2GHz processor and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Besides being compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n standards, the phone can connect to 3G network and when unavailable, can latch on to GPRS and EDGE. It has a 8 megapixel main camera (autofocus with LED flash) and a 1.3MP 720p HD front camera. The Panasonic P51 smartphone with a sleek unibody design is also available in black and white colours.
