Sony Nyphon and Sony Nozomi: Superphone battle in the making
Sony Ericsson Nyphon and Sony Ericsson Nozomi are two forth coming models from the company. Considering its specs and other features it seem like they will be the company’s flag ship model for next year. Both these models are expected to be launched during the first few months of next year. Sony Ericsson is set to become Sony by the mid of next year, so under which branding the mobile phones will be launched is not clear as for now.
Sony Ericsson Nozomi is a dashing smart phone that comes in a very good design. The phone features a monolithic block type form factor and comes in matte finish. There is a dedicated camera button in the device. The button bar which is placed at the bottom looks like it runs straight across the device. It lends a stylish and sophisticated look to it.
Sony Ericsson Nyphon also has a very impressive styling. The front portion of the mobile is dominated by a large touch screen display. The bottom portion has 3 buttons which are placed in a small curve. The design of this phone follows the conventional styling and it looks very simple. The phone seems to have good ergonomics and looks very compact.

Nyphon will have a 4 inch display where as Nozomi will have a 4.3 inch display. The display resolution of the former will be 540 x 960 pixels and can easily support 1080p video. The latter will have a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, amounting to a pixels density of 342 pixels per inch. This is a higher resolution display compared to the other one.
Nyphon’s main camera will have a resolution of 8 mega pixel and it has auto focus features. The camera can record videos and has an inbuilt LED flash. Nozomi’s main camera will have a resolution of 12 mega pixels and has auto focus features and LED flash too. There is also a secondary camera in the front for video calling.
Both the phones run on Android operating system. Nyphon will have ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 processor which is clocked at 1 GHz. Nozomi will have a dual core processor which runs with a clock speed of 1.5 GHz. Both the phones will have Adreno 220 graphics processing unit. Connectivity options like USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are common to both the devices.
Sony Ericsson Nyphon and Sony Ericsson Nozomi have very interesting specs and the users will be able to get their hands on one of these devices in the beginning of next year itself. The price tag of the phones is not yet revealed.
