Back in 2011, the Japanese giant Sony launched Android powered Xperia Mini. Since then, the trend of announcing mini versions of flagship handsets continues. If Samsung can come up with Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC is most ready to announce miniature version of HTC One; it's time to see what Sony has to offer. Ahead of IFA Berlin, the makers behind Xperia Z are reportedly working on a mini version of Honami phone.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini looks similar to original Galaxy S4, but the internal specifications are utterly nonsense. The forthcoming HTC One Mini is said to arrive with 720p HD display and dual-core processor. If sources close to VR Zone are to be believed, Sony is preparing a monster mini smartphone in the form of Honami i1 mini.
The report says that the mini version of Honami i1 would carry high-end specifications. The phone will have either a 4-inch or 4.3-inch display. It is not clear whether the panel is capable of flaunting Full HD resolution.
The HTC One comes with 4.7-inch display having 1920 x 1080 pixels at 469ppi. If Sony comes with a 4.3-inch Full HD display, imagine an eye boggling 512ppi. Apple is working closely with Sharp and could come up with a 4-inch Full HD panel at 550ppi. Further the report also suggested that the Honami i1 mini will arrive with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor.
Recently, Sony has announced Xperia Z Ultra with a Snapdragon 800 SOC. It won't be difficult for Sony to bring a high-end phone in smaller form factor. While the Honami device is rumored to have a Cyber-shot branding along with a 20-mega pixel shooter at the back. VR Zone believes that the mini Honami phone camera is said to be different from flagship device. In terms of raw power, it won't be as précised as its elder cousin, but image quality would be comparatively same.
iPhone 5S -- What All to Expect?
If the PlayStation 4 maker comes with such device than the real competition is between iPhone 5S and Honami i1 Mini. Apple iPhone 5S is said to be announced in September, while Sony's mini flagship phone could be announced on September 4.
The iPhone 5, Apple's next big bet, is said to arrive in September. After the failure of iPhone 5, the Cupertino-based tech giant wants its iDevices to succeed. Earlier this year, the makers behind iPod had announced revamped iOS. GizBot has already told you about the display size of iPhone 5S.
While Japan's Sharp had already started producing panels for the device last month, other contractors would be making custom designed chip. The handset will be stuffed with A7x chipset, 2GB of RAM, aluminum body, a 12-mega pixel camera and better battery inside. There is a rumor going on which says that Apple is considering to use NFC chip in the next version of iPhone.
