Sony Xperia C Launched At Rs 21,490: Top 5 Rivals

Sony India has now launched a new phablet, the Xperia C, at a price of Rs. 21,490. The handset will the company's answer to Samsung's Galaxy Grand and Lenovo's P780 and S920. The device was listed by retailers earlier this month for a price of Rs.20,490 and was unveiled at the Mobile Asia Expo.

Talking about the phone's specifications, it has a 5 inch TFT display with a resolution of 960x540p and an Omnibalance design that Sony uses in all of its top-end smartphones. For processing, it calls upon a 1.2GHz quad-core Mediatek processor along with 1GB of RAM. There's 4GB of internal storage and a micrSD slot that allows for expansion up to 32GB.

For imaging, it uses an 8MP camera with LED Flash in the rear and a VGA shooter up front. Connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0. The handset has a 2,390 mAh battery, meaning that it should deliver some substantial battery life. You can pick the phablet up in white, black and purple colors.

To entice holiday shoppers, Sony is offering headphones worth Rs 1,490 with the Xperia C for free. Apart from this, the company is also throwing in six months of accidental damage protection with the handset. If that wasn't enough, the phone maker has also tied up with Airtel to offer 1GB of free data usage for two months along with the handset.

Given its feature set and attractive price point, analysts believe that the Sony Xperia C will reap success for the Japanese phonemaker during this holiday season.
