Samsung to Face Stiff Competition from Sony: Latest Leak Shows Xperia Cosmos is Coming
Although the Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 are still going strong it's time to look forward to meet a new selfie-centric handset from Sony.
The tech giant is readying itself to launch its next mid-range smartphone - widely believed to be called the Sony Xperia Cosmos. Earlier last week a Sony-made Xperia Cosmos was spotted online. The device is yet to go official, but it could be launched anytime tomorrow.

Sony Xperia FR has teased a picture that could be a possible new smartphone on their Twitter account that appears to line up with the theme of the eclipse.
According to the teaser, Sony Mobile France added a tagline that reads, "Une éclipse solaire aura lieu demain matin. Nous sommes déjà prêts... et vous?" This translates to, "A solar eclipse will take place tomorrow morning. We are already ready... and you?"
It's generally believed that the device in question is nothing but the much-hyped Xperia Cosmos. Basically the new device from Sony will feature mid-end specs and a wide-angle front camera with flash.
Earlier this week, Upleaks, the popular mobile tipster had posted an image of the so-called Sony Xperia Cosmos. The upcoming handset is reportedly called Sony Xperia Cosmos and will feature mid-range specs and a wide-angle front camera with flash.
If media reports are to be believed, the Xperia Cosmos will have trimmed bezels when compared to other handsets in the Xperia series. It will also come pre-loaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop and is rumored to feature a wide-angle front-facing shooter with Flash.
Interestingly, the Sony Xperia Cosmos would be powered by a MediaTek processor, meaning the handset could be priced on a lower side. Other details about the device have been kept under tight wraps.
Sony Xperia Comos To Succeed Xperia C3?
If media reports are to be believed, the Sony Xperia Cosmos will likely to replace the original Xperia C3, which made its debut last year. It was projected as a great selfie-centric camera phone. The Android-powered phone featured a 5.5-inch HD screen, a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with Flash. The device is now on sale in India for less than Rs. 19,000.
