Remember the Xperia J smartphone, which was unveiled at the IFA 2012 event in Berlin on August 29 along with Xperia T and Xperia V smartphone? Well, reportedly it has been confirmed that the new stylish smartphone build on the same design language first introduced by the award-winning Xperia arc and Xperia arc S has not reached the Indian shores and consequently, Xperia J is up for pre-order on Flipkart and Infibeam at a price of Rs 16,490.

Also, the listing suggests that the handset will be shipped starting from the fifth week of October. Hence, tech experts are anticiapting that the Japanese tech giant will release the smartphone in India by the end of this month. 

Detailing on the specs of Xperia J, it is a mid-range smartphone flavored with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Moreover, it features a 4 inch scratch resistant Reality display with Bravia engine, 1GHz Qualcomm processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal flash memory, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB, 1,750 mAh battery, 5MP rear camera with auto focus, Wi-Fi, NFC, DLNA, Bluetooth and aGPS connectivity features. Initially the handset had three different color option of pink, black and white but now it has been reportedly claimed that the smartphone may come with more choice.

One-touch' Function for Content Sharing

Sony has incorporated the smartphone with 'One-touch' function, which takes NFC beyond the traditional uses including e-ticketing and mobile payments. This new feature will let consumers easily and instantaneously share their music and photos among an array of NFC enabled Sony devices, by simply touching one to another to establish a wireless connection, thereby, eliminating the ambiguous pairing process.


Sony Media applications
