Two new smartphones, featuring almost everything you can ask for in a mobile phone, are the Sony Xperia S and Nokia Lumia 900. The handsets were displayed at the CES 2012 and achieved a lot of positive comments. It would be quite hard to make a choice, if you get to choose any one mobile out of the two.

So a comparison of the Xperia S and Lumia 900 based on a couple of factors is in order.

As you can see, the Xperia S dominates when it comes to the power factor, with its 1.5 GHz dual core CPU and 1 GB RAM. The camera specifications are way better in Xperia S with a 12 MP camera, while the Lumia 900 sports an 8 MP camera. Lumia 900’s camera can record 720p HD videos, while Xperia S’s primary camera can record full HD 1080p resolution videos.

If you consider the form factor, build quality and design, both the handsets are cool with cutting edge finishes and top notch quality. But the Sony Xperia S still dominates when it comes to displays, although the Lumia 900 has the same 4.3 inch display like the Xperia S. But Lumia 900 has an AMOLED display. The simple Windows Mango and Android Gingerbread OS in the handsets are evenly matched when you consider simplicity, user interface etc.

The price tags of the handsets haven’t been announced yet, but Sony Xperia S is most likely the expensive one. Hopefully Nokia Lumia 900’s price tag would be reasonable.
