Practical Design!

The most sought after phones available in the market , notably the HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, iPhone 5S and the Nokia Lumia 1020 , looks different from each other. The same can be said about the Sony Xperia Z1. It's not as big as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but not as thick as the Nokia Lumia 1020. It seems that Sony doesn't want its hard core fans complaining about design goof ups.

The Xperia Z1 is a perfect mixture of modern contemporary design and supreme hardware. The device is not boring at all, and users will fall in love once again. From the Xperia Z to Xperia Z Ultra to Xperia Z1, Sony has used more or less repeated same design, and that's a good trick. Though, Sony Xperia Z1 triumphs over the Xperia Z Ultra over the durability and logical design.

The Xperia Z1 inherits Sony's "all most perfect "design approach. The device feels solid, when you hold it for the first time. The phone is a bit heavier at 168 grams. The device measures 8.5mm in terms of thickness. The aluminum frame holds two scratch less panels- one on the front and other on the back.

The Aluminum frame along with plastic body could the real reason why the device appears to be tad heavier. After using the device constantly for a week, GizBot found that the Xperia Z1 is prone to scratches which are not a very good sign. This is not the first time we have faced this problem. This is a genuine problem with Sony handsets these days. Still, the Xperia Z1 feels as good as the HTC One or iPhone 5S, in respect to design and treatment.

The Xperia Z1 (no capacitive Android buttons given) has the right mix of physical buttons. The logical behind adding a dedicated camera shutter key is understood. The microUSB, microSIM and microSD card slots are protected by plastic-covers. The signature aluminum power button enhances aesthetics. The volume rocker button is found underneath the power button.

On the upper side, you will notice a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the lower side of the phone has a speaker. The given speaker is quite loud, and yes, sometimes the sound distorts at maximum-level. On the rear-back, you will notice a 20.7MP camera lens. It has a wide 27mm G lens with F/2.0 aperture and Sony Exmor backside illuminated sensor (BIS). The LED indicator is hidden inside the front-facing earpiece; it let you know about the latest notifications.

Sony Xperia Z1 features a 5-inch (12.7cm) Triluminos display powered by X- Reality for mobile. The 5-inch display comes with Full HD 1080 resolution. Sony accepted that the Xperia Z had issues related to display. Now with the Xperia Z1 nothing much has changed. The display quality is vastly improved over its predecessor, but GizBot is still not convincing. The outdoor visibility remains disappointing. The viewing angles have improved, which is a positive indication. Color reproduction and saturation are surprisingly great, and sometimes the quality matches to that of the Xperia Z Ultra.
