Sony Xperia Z1f: Mini Version of Xperia Z1 Now Official With 20.7MP Camera And Snapdragon 800

    Following the likes of Samsung and HTC, Japan-based Sony has finally announced a shrunken version of flagship Xperia Z1, but only in Japan. The Sony Xperia Z1f will be exclusively made available on NTT DOCOMO network. The 2013 winter-lineup includes 16 new mobile devices. However, the brightest them of all the Xperia Z1f caught our attention. Sony has become the latest tech vendor to introduce an affordable version of a high-end flagship device of lately.

    The Xperia Z1f (earlier known as Xperia Z1 Mini) is very close to Sony's flagship device. The mini version of Xperia Z1 is a bit heavy at 140 grams. The internal hardware is more or less similar to the Xperia Z1. The most visible change i.e. the display now comes with a 4.3-inch TFT LCD 720p HD resolution.

    The handset is powered by a 2.2 quad-core processor, thanks to Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC (MSM8974), 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card slot). Android 4.2 Jelly Bean comes out the device.The Xperia Z1f also supports 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC and a 2300mAh battery. Camera enthusiast would be happy to know that Sony hasn't changed the camera, a 20.7-megapixel rear shooter powered by "G "Lens.

    Since Sony has yet to communicate whether they would be announcing this device in other Asian market including India; it makes no sense to start another debate around pricing.

    For Sony India is one of the top markets for mobile device. The Japanese premium smartphone maker launched Xperia Z1 in India before matured markets including US among others. There are chances to see the Xperia Z1f in India as early as possible.

    Expect the retail price of Sony Xperia Z1F between Rs.33,990 - Rs.34,990 in India. The Sony Xperia Z1f will compete against Samsung's Galaxy Mini and HTC One Mini not in terms of hardware but also pricing should be taken into consideration.

    The Xperia Z1F does not have a regular Full HD resolution like any other high-end device. You will find a 4.3-inch display having resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Both the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One Mini have same 4.3-inch display resolution.
