Sony Xperia Z2 Series to get Lollipop Update Soon
Japanese handset maker Sony has announced that it has started rolling the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop for the flagship device Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact from Nordics and Baltics. Moreover, the company also promised to release the Lollipop updates for other Xperia Z Series devices in around two weeks.
As promised, the company has started rolling out the update for the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact smartphones worldwide and also started rolling out the Lollipop update for the Z3 Tablet Compact.
Coming to the update, company has posted improvements, you can expect after the update. They are:
1. UI based on Google's material design, but retaining Sony's minimalistic approach.
2. Enhanced notifications and lock screen with fully customizable settings.
3. Multi user profiles and guest mode.
4. Android for Work support.
5. Better storage control and customization with the option to easily move applications from internal memory to SD card.
Lollipop updates comes with new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI design, refreshing notification system. It allows the users to see the notification in the lock screen and heads up notification are displayed like banners on the top of the screen.

Additionally, there is do-not-disturb feature also added in the notification bar. This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian which tracks the battery consumption by the apps.
Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet would start getting the Lollipop update starting next week. Sony also confirmed that it will offer Lollipop update for both the Xperia C3 and Xperia T2 Ultra smartphones. It will confirm the roll out details for these two smartphones in coming weeks.
