Spice Officially Launches Fire One Mi-FX1 With Firefox OS in India at Rs 2,229

Spice isn't great a name when considering the smartphone business with all big names ruling the roost. However, the introduction of a whole new OS is something else, and could easily catapult the company to stardom via its new Fire One Mi - FX1 handset.

The Spice-made Fire One Mi - FX 1 is the newest Firefox OS handset to have arrived in the Indian market. While only a budget phone, the highlight here of course is not the specs but the fact that it's offering the latest Firefox OS.

Spice Officially Launches Fire One Mi-FX1 With Firefox OS in India

Today, the company has launched its first ever Firefox OS powered smartphone, the Fire One Mi-FX1, into Indian market at Rs. 2,229. Notably, the domestic vendor has tied up with Snapeal for a short period of time.

Spice Fire One Mi- FX1 - Highlighted Specifications

The Spice-made Firefox OS powered smartphone comes with a 3.5-inch display, a 1Ghz single core processor, a microSD card slot ( upto 4GB ), a 1.3MP rear-facing camera, a VGA quality front-facing shooter and a 1400mAh battery fitted inside. Unfortunately, the low-cost smartphone is supported by 2G connectivity.

The device also supports several Indian regional languages including Hindi, Tamil and Bangla. The Spice Fire One smartphone will be made available in three flashy colors - Orange, White and Black.

Just like Intex, Spice Mobility has also collaborated with Aircel. As per the strategy, the device will come along with 1GB of free data plan for a period of 3 months.

The new handset will now look to rival against the likes of Intex-made Cloud FX handset that's also running the Firefox OS. However, a rivalry with other Android devices is also on the cards with the specs and features to consider.
