Spice S1200 Will Be A Competitive Camera Phone!
And betting big on the success of these revolutionary models Spice Mobile have introduced yet another amazing model the Spice S1200. If judging by the first impression is your way of rating phones then this will go in as a simple and boring looking phone, which you can buy for around Rs 2,000.
The Spice S1200 mobile phone boasts of a 12 Mega Pixel camera at the rear end. This is by far the most powerful camera in the industry and is only found in just 2 other models – The Sony Ericsson Satio and the Samsung Pixon12.
Spice S1200 features another unique property that you don"t get to see in any other mobile today. It offers a 3X Optical Zoom. Optical Zoom is a feature that is found only in today"s High end Digital Camera"s. Here the lens itself protrudes outside the camera shell and thus maintains quality while zooming in on objects unlike digital zoom.
The Nokia N93 and the Samsung G800 were the only other phones offering Optical Zoom but both of them are no longer available for sale. So Spice has made available a sure market grabber in camera segment because the phone is aggressively priced at Rs 13,000. Other prominent features that support its camera functionality includes
1.Multiple face detection
2.Smile shutter
3.anti-shake (digital image stabilization)
4.manual/auto/multi focus
5.macro mode
But the Spice S1200 disappoints in all other areas where a similarly priced phone usually excel. The phone has no 3.5 mm headphone slot so users will be forced to use its bundled headset for enjoying music. Also there is no support for internet technologies like 3G, Wi-Fi etc which you would normally expect from an above 10K priced phone. The battery life is also very poor offering just about 2 hours of talk time. You do get a Micro SD slot for memory expansion and an audio player.
The phone is also a bit grumpy on the design side with hard keys. The keys are somewhat cramped and difficult to use.
Thus the Spice S1200, is just a powerful camera phone which offers pretty much nothing more than a digital camera except for basic phone functions. Its Camera is however a tad above the competition with superb precision and clarity.
