Spice Transformer Vs Micromax Van Gogh: Art Vs Alien
Two handset manufacturers in particular have brought this sensation to India recently with its newly launched models. The companies are Micromax Mobiles and Spice Mobiles.
The handsets that they have introduced based on design inspirations from art are the Micromax Van Gogh X450 and Spice Transformer.
Both the phones are styled and designed on the basis of relevant works of art. The Micromax Van Gogh is designed on the cues of artist Van Gogh painting works on Sunflowers which explains the striking yellow colour on its back panel. The Spice Transformer is a phone that was launched as a result of a strategic tie up of Spice Mobiles with the Transformer Movie Franchise owned and marketed by Hasbro productions. The phone can transform from a physical keypad equipped bar phone into a stylish touch screen based phone within a few seconds. The twisting and turning associated with that transformation is just like in the movie and hence the name. It is the first transformer phone in India.
On the camera front the Micromax Van Gogh pips the Spice Transformer as it has a 2 Mega Pixel camera in comparison to the 1.3 Mega Pixel rated camera of the latter.
Both the phones are good in the spec front for their price range. They offer music and video recording and playback in a number of known media formats. They have an FM radio and universal audio jack in common. Both have expandable memory that can be extended all the way upto 8 GB via a Micro SD expansion slot.
The phones have adequate connectivity and communication technology support like the on board Bluetooth support available for both the Transformer and the Van Gogh.
Both the models support dual sim technology with dual sim standby. The Spice Transformer however has some preloaded gigs like Wallpapers, Screensavers, video clips and trailers of the latest Transformers movie franchise- Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon.
The pricing is one area where the Van Gogh scores significantly. It is available at a price of just Rs 3500 in comparison to the Spice Model"s Rs 4500 price tag.
However, on comparison, both the Spice Transformer and Micromax Van Gogh are an attractive choice for their respective buyers.
