Mobile handset maker Swipe Telecom seems to be fighting hard to snatch marketplace popularity from other local brands existing in India. A couple of months ago, the California-based tech firm launched Swipe Volt, a 6 inch display handset in the market at a price of Rs 12,999 to compete with Micromax Canvas HD.

Now in a latest development, the company has launched another innovative fablet, dubbed as Swipe 9X. Priced at Rs 8,999, the 4.7 inch Fablet comes with a HD capacitive multi-touch screen and 1 GHz dual core processor.

However, the mobile operating system of the handset launched is an old version of Android - Ice-cream Sandwich 4.0, going by its low price tag.

The other specifications of Swipe 9X include 8 MP rear camera with flash and a 2 MP front facing camera, 3G Dual SIM support along with Wi-Fi, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB In-built memory coupled with 32 GB expandable memory via a Micro SD Card, Bluetooth, GPS, 2G, FM Radio, Gravity Sensor, Range Sensor, Torchlight and a 2000 mAh Battery. The dimensions of Swipe 9X fall around 138.0 X 70.0 X 9.3(mm) at a weight of 149 grams.

Those who wish to purchase the phablet at a strict budget cost of Rs 8,999, can go for the newly launched Swipe 9X, who knows it might get a Jelly Bean upgrade in the coming months. At the same time, the device is available on the company's website for instant purchase at a slightly higher mentioned price, that is Rs 9,600.
