Swipe Telecom - a California headquartered technology company has announced the availability of their recently launched F1 Fablet. With the announcement of the new device, Swipe has also forayed into the phablet segment of the smartphone market in India. The phablet was earlier unveiled alongside voice calling incorporated tablet - Legend Tab.
Speaking of specifications, Fablet F1 sports a 5 inch WVGA capacitive multi-touch display, 1GHz MediaTek MTK 6575 processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 2,500 mAh battery.
Earlier, the phablet was listed for pre-order at a price of Rs 8,990 and now it has been released officially into the market at a price of Rs 9,490.
As claimed by the company, Fablet F1 supports high multitasking, heavy applications and provides the user with HD gaming capability. Moreover, it comes with enhanced GPS features with voice navigation which enables an easy experience for users.
The tablet is available on all top online portals as well as at Swipe Telecom's website: www.swipetelecom.com/store or call 1800-1-038-038 to book it.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Shripal Gandhi, Founder and CEO, Swipe Telecom said, "With the F1 Fablet we would like to introduce a product which addresses specific needs of the ever growing tech savvy consumer in India. We at Swipe have always believed in offering cost effective world-class technology to the huge consumer base in the country. There is a great potential for the product since there has been a growing demand for ‘Fablets' which can offer great performance by complimenting your official and personal lifestyle alike."
Potential Rival: Micromax A110 Canvas 2
Analyzing the specifications and price, F1 Fablet seems to be a direct competitor to Micromax A110 Canvas 2, which was released into the market in October 2012 at a market price of Rs 9,999.
Comparing the specs of A110 Canvas 2 with Swipe F1 Fablet, the former features the same 5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, 1GHz dual core processor, 8MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera for video calling purposes, 4GB internal storage, 512MB, a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS with aGPS, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi and 1,600 mAh Li-ion battery delivering 5 hours talk time and 174 hours standby.
With a price tag of Rs 9,990, Canvas 2 has the all the abilities to compete with the Swipe phablet offering. However, with the commendable dual core processor and improved camera performance, relatively lesser price tag, support for HD gaming and with an improved battery capacity, the Swipe offering could be a stiff rival to the former.
