Following the success in the tablet market with a few launches including 3D Life, Tab All-In-One, Velocity Tab and more, Swipe Telecom, a California based tech manufacturer has entered the smartphone market with Fablet F1 Tab priced at Rs 8,990.
When announced, the phablet alongside a dual SIM tablet dubbed as Legend Tab were launched only for the Gujarat market and there was no information on the availability of these devices in the other parts of the country. However, in a recent developmen, Infibeam.com, an online retailer site has listed Fablet F1 Tab for pre-order at Rs 8,990.
With the launch of a phablet in the sub Rs 10,000 price range, Swipe has entered into a direct competition with the other budget phablets launched in the market in similar price points. See the image gallery below to update yourself on the specs and competition of the Swipe phablet.
Swipe Fablet F1 Tab
Speaking of the specifications, Fablet F1 Tab sports a 5 inch WVGA capacitive multi-touch display, 1GHz MediaTek MTK 6575 processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 5MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 2,500 mAh battery.

Micromax Superfone A110 Canvas 2
With the launch of Canvas A100, Micromax entered the phablet market only recently and within a couple of months, the company came with the successor of its first generation phablet with the launch of A110 Canvas 2.
As far as specs are concerned, A110 Canvas 2 features a 5 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, 1GHz dual core processor, 8MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera for video calling purposes, 4GB internal storage, 512MB, a micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable memory, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS with aGPS, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi and 1,600 mAh Li-ion battery delivering 5 hours talk time and 174 hours standby.
With a price tag of Rs 9,990, Canvas 2 has the ability to compete with the Swipe offering with its dual core processor and improved camera performance.
Zync Cloud Z5
Zync, a budget tech manufacturer in India who is well known for the wide variety of Android 4.0 ICS based tablets of both 7 and 10 inch displays has now forayed the smartphone market with the Cloud Z5 phablet.
Cloud Z5 packs a 5 inch 5 point multi-touch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GHz processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 8MP rear camera, a 0.3MP front camera, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable storage, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS and 2,500 mAh Li-ion battery.
Priced at Rs 11,990, Cloud Z5 can be purchased for Rs 9,490 from Snapdeal. Moreover, with a better rear camera perfoirmance and a set of preloaded software features, the Zync offering could be a potential rival to Fablet F1 Tab.
Intex Aqua 5.0
Intex Technologies has also jumped into the bandwagon as it has come up with Aqua 5.0 - an Android phablet priced at Rs 9,999.
Speaking of specs, Aqua 5.0 flaunts a 5 inch multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, dual core 1GHz processor, Android 4.0 ICS OS, 5MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal memory, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional memory, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth 2.0 and GPS and a 2,000 mAh battery.
With a better front camera for video calling, Intex Aqua 5.0 could be a sitff competitior to the Swipe offering, however, the latter has a lower price tag and a better battery capacity.
As far as specifications are concerned, Karbonn A30 phablet has a 5.9 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, 1GHz processor, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, dual sim support, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth, GPS and a 2,500 mAh battery. With dual SIM support and Android 4.0 ICS, the Karbonn phablet could be a classified as a rival to the other products including the ones mentioned in the next slides.
However, it is priced at Rs 10,990 and is awaiting its official release. May be the device could retail for the same specs and price, but there is no confirmation on the same from Karbonn Mobiles.
With a massive 5.9 inch display and better rear and front camera, the Karbonn phablet could be a hard hitting challenger for the Swipe phablet.
Aircel has joined hands with Magicon Impex has launched a new range of dual SIM smartphones including Magicon M1, Magicon M2 and Magicon mNote at competitive price points.
Speaking of mNote, the phablet comes with a 5 inch Ultratouch touchscreen display, dual core 1GHz processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 2,000 mAh battery.
The device priced at Rs 9,999 comes packed with packed with attractive voice and data plans from Aircel including 250 minutes talk time, 250 SMSes and 1 GB data for three months. The phones are come with a 4GB memory card and a warranty cover of 18 months.
