Swipe Telecom, which is primarily known for churning affordable handsets, today introduced a massive 6.5-inch phablet - the Halo Fone.

The company has indeed created a mammoth phone that is already being seen as an alternative to commonly available 7-inch Android-powered tablets.

At Rs. 6,999, Swipe Halo Fone offers a gigantic display plus, offers a dual-core processor and promises long lasting battery life. The device comes in Black color and is exclusive to Flipkart at the moment.

The 3G capable Swipe Halo Fone features a 6.5-inch display having a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Processing come in the form for a 1.3GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.

Other connectivity features include: 3G, Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and A-GPS.

Planning on a smartphone that doubles as a tablet device? The Swipe Halo Fone isn't the only phone with a large 6.5-inch display. Of course there are other competitive handsets available in the market within same price range.

The Zync Z605, for instance, features a 6.5-inch (800 X 480) display, unspecified dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, microSD card slot, 2MP rear-facing camera, 0.3MP front-facing camera, 2500mAh battery, Dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and more. The device is priced at Rs.7,999.
