Recent report from Samsung revealed that the company has revenue of 52.35 trillion Korean Won on a consolidated basis for the Q2 which ended in June 30, 2014. Samsung's revenue fell by 2% quarter-on-quarter, while the operating profit for the quarter was 7.19 trillion, which is a 15% drop from the last quarter.

However, that doesn't keep Samsung from releasing their latest devices in the rich smartphone market like India. According to the reports generated by market research firm IDC, Samsung still holds the number one position in terms of sales by brand. However, Micromax and Karbonn most of the time stay close to the company in terms of sales.

In the global mobile category, Samsung reported revenue of 27.51 trillion Won, which is down by 12% compared to 31.36 trillion Won in the previous quarter (Q1 2014). It is said that the fall in the profit is due to slow global sales of smartphones and tablets and increase in market expenditure, said Samsung.

Since Samsung has a large range of smartphones from low-end to high-end models, from India, it might sustain the expected growth.
