In a latest report by Google on the Android Developers website, it has been revealed that number of phones running Android 4.0 and higher jumped significantly this month.
Reportedly, smartphones packed with Android 4.x account for over 50% of all Androids while Jelly Bean has reached 25% market share - up from 16.5% last month. Whereas, the number of people running Gingerbread is now 39.8%.
"Beginning in April, 2013, these (Android Platform data) charts are now built using data collected from each device when the user visits the Google Play Store. Previously, the data was collected when the device simply checked-in to Google servers," Google revealed.
