Latest report from a research firm Gartner, suggested that the number of mobile connections in India is expected to grow by 8% to touch 815 million this year, even as the market is expected to remain at almost the same level as last year - at $19.2 billion.
Just a couple of days ago, the research firm also said that the mobile user base is expected to grow to 815 million this year, from 755 million connections in 2013.
Basically the Indian smartphone market is getting a lot of new smartphones coming in. Moreover, new smartphone brands from China like Xiaomi has also entered into the country just this month and another company which is yet to launch in India is OnePlus.

According to the recent IDC report, "India was the highest growing market in Asia Pacific with a year-on-year smartphone shipment growth of over 186% in 1Q 2014. The vast majority of the country's user base migrated to smartphones from feature phones and as a result Indian smartphone market outshone other emerging markets like China which registered a year-on-year growth of 31% in 1Q 2014."
