Xiaomi has already made an official entry into the country. Backed by the previous Google Android mastermind Hugo Barra, the company now seeks to make a deeper impact in the native market compared to what its predecessors have already achieved.
There's still a long way to go before we find out exactly how good the company will do when the native market is concerned. However, it seems like the company has made the right sort of jump into the challenge with the release of the attractive new Mi3 handset.
And needless to say that the jump has proven to be a vital one. Reports have been flowing in about how the new handset has managed to fly off Flipkart shelves in just 5 seconds. Apparently, the site saw an unprecedented 250,000 users simultaneously accessing the Mi 3 page shortly after the sale opened. And that's quite a big deal.
Going through the specs of the device once more, the Xiaomi-made Mi3 sports a 5-inch IPS display offering a full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 441ppi pixel density with Corning Gorilla glass protection. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM 8974AB) processor coupled with 2GB DDR3 RAM and it runs a custom interface dubbed MiUI that is a very different take on Android.
The smartphone also features a high-end camera modules. You will find a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, Sony Exmor BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p full HD video recording along with a 2MP front-facing camera with similar specs as the rear camera. The latest Xiaomi smartphone which measures 114mm×72mm×8.1mm and weighs 145g will house a 16 GB internal memory.
Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC and will draw its energy from a 3050mAh battery.
But while the specs look more than better, if you are indeed looking forward to buy the device, let us tell you that the company has also outed its list of accessories for the device in India. And some of them look absolutely gorgeous.
