US Cellular adds Android phones Motorola Electrify 2 and Defy XT: What Features to Expect?

In an effort to add more feathers to its Android collection, after getting the Galaxy S3 and HTC One V major wireless network operator, US Cellular has announced the launch of Motorola Electrify 2 and Defy XT.

Motorola Electrify 2 – What to Expect?

Talking about the successor of Electrify -- Motorola Electrify 2 will come packed with Android 4.0 ICS, 4.3-inch display, an unnamed 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It looks to be using the same UI as the Atrix HD, and would come with on-screen navigation buttons, which are present on the Galaxy Nexus.

Another notable feature of the handset is that its exterior is protected using Kevlar. Kevlar has high tensile strength and its presence adds extra strength to the body of the equipment. Kevlar also adds durability to the body of the device. An invisible splash guard is present in the device to protect it from accidental spills. The splash guard uses nano coating for protecting the equipment.

Further, as informed by the companby press release, Motorola Electrify 2 is the first device in US that uses SMARTACTIONS app. This app has the capability to extend the battery life to a considerable amount. The app helps its users to smartly manage routines and also suggests ways to personalize the phone.

Meanwhile, the 0.33-inch thick handset is available today online for $179.99 (approx. Rs 10,000) with a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year contract.

Defy XT – What to Expect?

On the other hand, Defy XT is for those who are more concerned about durability than features. It has a 3.7-inch, 854 x 540 scratch-resistant display, and the whole device is water resistant and dust proof.

It is the same phone that launched on Republic Wireless recently and, most unfortunately, it runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. If you're interested for a purchase, the hadset will be available on August 3, however the company has shared no information regargding the pricing of the same.
