Vertu Constellation: Ultra Luxury Android Jelly Bean Handset Unveiled

Vertu, a leading luxury handset maker, has come up with a new handset called "The Constellation". However, the UK based manufacturer has chosen to add this handset to its popular, high end constellation series.

Going by the specs of this latest handmade handset, it comes with a 4.3 inch touch screen which projects a resolution is 720p and pixel density of 342ppi. The screen is protected by 5.1 inch 100 carat sapphire glass which makes it scratch proof as well and the entire handset is put together in a titanium case.

It runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and can be upgraded to future versions of Android when they are available, the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260 S4 Pro - dual-core Krait CPU at 1.7GHz and Adreno 320.

The new Constellation comes with a trending 13-megapixel rear camera with a dual-LED flash and a capability of shooting video at 1080p. The front facing camera comes with a 1.3 MP sensor.

It houses an internal storage capacity of 32 GB. When one has to talk about connectivity options included in the handset, it comes loaded with 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with aptX along with a Secure NFC support.

The handset is powered by a 1800mAh battery.

Sadly, the Vertu Concierge service, which gives the Virtu owners access to a telephone-based personal assistant 24/7, isn't included in the new Constellation handset. However it does come with a revised version of Vertu Life for a range of exclusive event invitations, and the security services of Vertu Certainty. Another weak point of the handset is the low battery power while the biggest advantage of the handset is its screen. The maker of the handset has not disclosed the RAM of the handset at the moment.

According to the specs the handset can be categorized as a midrange device but since it comes with a luxury casing and other Virtu's touch in it, the price is quite high at, $6,600 (approx. Rs. 4,08,804). The new constellation will be available from October in select stores worldwide.

The company has further added plenty of calf skin leather to make it look luxurious and the rear of the device comes in 5 classy shades viz. Cappuccino, Black, Orange, Mocha and Raspberry.
