ViewSonic V55 with Iris Scanner Technology Tipped to Launch in CES 2015 [REPORT]
Few months back, there were lot of rumors about the ViewSonic Corporation coming up with a handset with highly anticipated Iris technology. Now as per the latest reports by GizmoChina, the ViewSonic is all set to launch the new smartphone at this year's CES 2015. Dubbed as ViewSonic V55 will have the next generation Iris technology.
Basically, Iris scanner which is on the top right corner of the phone, is said to scan the owner's unique eye pattern for biometric identification. With this technology, only the owner, whose eye pattern is recorded can unlock and access information from the smartphone, which makes this a very secured mode of identification.

Unlike finger print scanner, which is exposed, this Iris scanner is hidden from the view. If the user wants to unlock the phone, they will have to slide the small piece concealing the scanner. When they slide it open, a light will turn on indicating that Iris scanner has turned on.
ViewSonic V55 - What Else to Expect?
As per the report, on the specification side, V55 will sport a 5.5-inch full-HD OGS display with a resolution of 1080x1920 pixels. It will come powered with 1.4GHz quad-core processor 64-bit Snapdragon 410 and Adreno 306 GPU alongside 2GB of RAM. This device comes in two variant in terms of storage ie. 16 and 32GB.
Further, it is likely to employ 13MP rear Sony camera with some add-on lenses like fish-eye, Macro, wide-angle etc and will also support 4G LTE networks. No information is available on the software and battery yet. Coming on to the form factor, looks like the smartphone will boast a plastic body with metal frame work on the sides and extremely thin bezels which will give a premium look.
As there is no official announcement about the pricing and the release of the smartphone, full details is expected on the CES 2015.
