The Chinese handset manufacturer Vivo has launched its much awaited, world's thinnest smartphone dubbed as Vivo X5Max. Crafted with a stunning 4.75mm thickness, the phone has snatched the tag of world's slimmest smartphone from its home rival Oppo. While Oppo had launched its R5 which was designed to be 4.85mm thick.
Vivo X5 Max Specifications:
Coming to the specifications, the X5Max smartphone sports a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p resolution, and is clocked by a 1.7GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage.
Moreover, this gorgeously slimline smartphone has a 13MP rear shooter, 5MP snapper for those who are into selfies and runsAndroid 4.4.4 KitKat based on Funtouch OS 2.0. It also features a 2000mAh battery.
The dual-SIM capable X5Max supports 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope sensors as well.

Although there is no official announcement about the price from Vivo authorities, BGR has put up the expected price of Vivo smartphones.
Vivo X5Max: Potential Rivals
The yet-to-be launched Oppo R5 seems to the main rival, which seems a bit larger than the Vivo at 4.85mm thick. Oppo will launch its R5 smartphone this month, the R5 is said to carry the specifications of 5.2-inch AMOLED FHD screen with an octa-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It contains a Snapdragon 615 processor and runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Also Oppo N3 maker has included a 13MP IMX214 sensor and a f/2.0 aperture, alongside a 5MP front shooter. Other connectivity options include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G, 2G, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, and a 2000 mAh battery fitted inside.
Gionee Elife S5.1:
Built with a dimension of 5.15mm thickness, Gionee Elife S5.1 comes with a 4.8-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels AMOLED display. It is clocked by a 1.7 GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and a Mali 450-MP4 GPU coupled with 1GB RAM.
The smartphone runs on Amigo 2.0 (based on Android 4.4 Kitkat). The slim phone houses 16GB of internal memory but lacks on external microSD card slot. It also sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash along with a 5MP front-facing snapper.
The smartphone also feature a DTS surround sound with connectivity options like 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS. The Gionee Elife S5.1 is powered by a 2100mAh battery.
