Originally unveiled at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC), Gionee's latest premium handset , the Elife S5.5 is now set to launch in India on March 31 in Goa, India.

Often touted to be the world's slimmest smartphone, the Gionee Elife S5.5 features superior design and power packed internal hardware under the hood.

Further, the launch which is taking place in mesmerizing Goa can be watched live here. Yes, you heard it right! Now you can watch a low resolution live streaming here. The event starts at 10:00am.

 

Meanwhile, the Gionee Elife S5.5 is a magnificent handset. Not only its the world's slimmest smartphone but at the same time boasts of high-end hardware.

The phone, Gionee Elife S5.5, is encased in a 5.5 mm thin metal frame. It packs a 5.0-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The world's slimmest smartphone also features a 1.7GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450-MP4 GPU coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

On the imaging front, there's a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with a single LED Flash. Moreover, the rear-facing camera is capable of recording videos in Full HD format. It also has a 5MP front-facing camera on the front side. The makers have added a 2300mAh battery fitted inside.

Other connectivity options include: 3G, Wi-Fi, 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 4.0 , A-GPS, USB OTG and more.
