Wickedleak Wammy Titan 2 Launched at Rs 13990: 5 Jelly Bean Phablets Who Will Fight Hard For Victory
As the phablet market is booming and almost everyone wants to own one, all the native manufacturers are launching such devices with large screen display every now and then. Especially, with the advent of 2013, this trend amongst the manufacturers and consumers is too high.
In January, Micromax and Samsung came up with their phablet offerings and sizzled the tech space in the country. Following them, several companies have started coming up with their own phablets that are also equipped with similar high-end specs in order to cope up with the competition.
One such company - Wickedleak has launched a slew of phablets in the country since the debut of this year including Wammy Titan, Wammy Passion Y HD and now, Wammy Titan 2. Yes, on Friday, the Mumbai based vendor came up with Wammy Titan 2, which is the successor of Wammy Titan and evetually slashed the price of the original offering.
Specwise, Wammy Titan 2 boasts a 5.3 inch HD IPS multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MT6589 processor with Power VR SGX544MP GPU, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 12MP rear camera with LED flash and support to Panoramic Shot, 5MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS, 3G and a 2,300 mAh Li-Ion battery offering a decent backup.
As recent market surveys have analyzed that the Android 4.1 and 4.2 versions of Jelly Bean operating system is being largely adopted, several Jelly Bean models have started appearing in the market. Moreover, the study claims that the platform is present in 10% of active hardware globally.
Eventually, the low cost tech manufacturers have started adopting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on to their budget smartphones and tablets. Recently, the Indian smartphone arena has witnessed several such launches from both global and native manufacturers.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD
Micromax has launched its first quad core Jelly Bean phablet - A116 Canvas HD housing a 5 inch HD IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589 processor, 8MP rear camera, VGA front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and a 2,100 mAh battery. Canvas HD is priced at Rs 13,990, however, there are reports claiming that the phablet will be priced at Rs 14,499.
Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos
Samsung aiming to make its presence prominent in different segments of the smartphone market has come up with its dual SIM Jelly Bean phablet - Galaxy Grand Duos in January at Rs 21,500.
The handset packs a 5 inch multi-touch LCD capacitive touchscreen display with a very low resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, dual core 1.2GHz processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera for video calling, 8GB internal storage capacity, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 64GB additional storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, HDMI, A-GPS, DLNA and a 2,100 mAh Li-ion battery.
Swipe MTV Volt
Swipe also entered the Jelly Bean market segment with MTV Volt that carries a 6 inch 5 point multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, 1GHz dual core MediaTek MTK 6577 processor for blazing performance, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera for video calling, 4GB internal storage, 512MB RAM, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB additional storage, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB 2.0, 3G and a 3,200 mAh Li-Po battery. The 6 inch device is priced attractively at Rs 12,999 making it a reasonable offering.
Karbonn Titanium S5
Karbonn Titanium S5 packs a 5 inch qHD multi-touch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad core processor, 1GB RAM, micro SD card slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and a 2,000 mAh battery. As of now, there is no word on the internal storage support, but it is expected to be around 4GB as in other budget phablets. The device is priced at Rs 11,990 and is listed on Snapdeal.
Lava Xolo Q800
Lava launched Xolo Q800 in the last week at a price of Rs 12,499. The handset comes with a 4.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and BSI sensor, 1.2MP front camera for video calling, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal memory, 32GB expandable memory with a micro SD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a 2,100 mAh battery.
