Founded in 2009, Wickedleak has really grown fast and the manufacturer has quite a number of handsets and tablets in their pocket now. Just yesterday they launched their latest Wammy Passion Plus + phablet, which is now available for pre orders on their official website at Rs. 15,990.
At the same time, Wickedleak has been teasing its fan on their Facebook page about an upcoming smartphone, which could be a water resistant flagship. The best part is that the teaser shows the handset being dropped into a container filled with Coca Cola and the device goes deep into the liquid and still working.
This obviously meant that Wickedleak is coming up with the waterproof handset and with the post which also read that "Something Wicked is Around the Corner!" GizBot became quite curious and contacted the manufacturer as this may be a concern for 'desi' rivals like Karbonn, Micromax and Xolo along with International brand like Sony.
During the conversation with the senior official at WickedLeak, it was informed that the company is still in works on such kind of smartphone, but they are definitely working on hydrophobic waterproofing technique to incorporate in their next range.
For those, who are not aware, hydrophobic waterproofing technique is used in smartphones and tablets to make it waterproof. It's basically a special kind of coating and is said to be coming to Samsung and Apple devices soon.
In the end, the official confirmed that Wickleak is still in the process to attain patents for this nano-technology and nothing is decided so far. However, no information was shared on the specs of the upcoming handsets.
Perhaps soon every aspect of the handset will be revealed and GizBot will keep you updated with the follow up of the story as we get more hints on the device. As mentioned earlier, this may bring a new concern among the domestic mobile phone manufacturers now. Who knows, this could turn out to be a new trend like quad core outburst which the market has witnessed recently.
