Windows Phone 8.1 To Get File Manager App Within May
Windows Phone 8.1 is not the only thing that has been going on in the Microsoft's house, but at the same time, Nokia acquisition by the software giant has also become one of the mast talked event of the year. Now the newly released version of the Windows Phone viz. the 8.1 version will be getting more add-on features soon.
Joe Belfiore, Microsoft's VP of Windows and User Experience held his "Ask Me Anything" on Reddit recently. The interaction was pretty fluent and clear and one thing that stroked most Windows phone users was the mention of the file manager feature for the new version of the OS.

In fact the mention of the file manager feature was made by one of the users who asked the question to Mr. Belfiore. The question was pretty simple, it went, "Hi Mr. Joe...is there any plans for file managers on WP." Joe responded in a very enthusiastic fashion and gave the person who asked a free Cortana T-shirt. Joe then noted that he has been running a build of the file manager on a couple of his phones and it is getting in "pretty good shape."
He then expressed the desired time line to have this feature added to the Windows Phone Store by the end of May. Even better, he shared a bunch of images to show us what File Manager in Windows Phone looks like.
File Manager is a highly-requested feature the mobile device users have been asking for since years, and Belfiore confirmed that yes, an app would be in the Windows Phone Store by the end of the month. Moreover, for any platform to be truly independent, a file manager that enables the users to manage and store their file is more needed. And what the app is going to do is that it will let you manage your SD card.
There is no concrete date mentioned regarding the app's availability, however, May is what we've got so far. Stay tuned!
