Looks like the Windows Phone 8 has been extending their reach towards Samsung. With the growing number of Windows Phone 8 devices in the market, Microsoft seems to roll its dice one more time in the wild smartphone arena throughout the globe with the latest Samsung ATIV S Neo. American cellular operator, Sprint, announced that it will be carrying a new Windows Phone running smartphone from Samsung.

In recent days, Samsung has been making its way to the headlines quite often and looking at its mobile phone portfolio, it can be genuinely considered as one of the best manufacturers and more than popular Microsoft doesn't have any less reputation. Microsoft has also extended its Windows Phone 8 platform to another device from HTC called 8XT. Perhaps, the best selling Microsoft's product and Samsung should be quite a combination.

Samsung ATIV S Neo Announced Featuring Windows Phone 8 and LTE Support

Here is a brief rundown of the specs of the Samsung's ATIV S Neo:

The latest Windows Phone 8 running device sports a 4.8-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 16M color depth and offers a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and 306 ppi pixel density.

The ATIV S Neo is powered by a 1.4GHz dual-core 1.4 GHz Krait processor and backed by a 1GB RAM and obviously runs on Windows Phone 8 platform. It will offer an 8-megapixel main camera with LED flash and a front-facing 1.9-megapixel camera for video chat. It also comes with a microSD memory card slot that supports up to 64 GB. It also features an international roaming service and connectivity options include 2G, 3G, 4G (LTE), GPRS, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and microUSB. The device is powered by a 2,000 mAh lithium-ion removable battery.

Samsung's ATIV S Neo one of the new feature is ATIV Beam that uses near field communication (NFC) to share photos, music and video with other Windows Phone 8 and select Android devices. ATIV S Neo includes the Samsung exclusive Now feature, which highlights top news, weather and relevant information at a single glance.

The smartphones also comes with Office Mobile for Windows Phone. So users can access, view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents from anywhere. Plus, customers can count on Office Mobile to keep content and formatting intact so documents still looks great when back on a PC, Windows tablet or Mac.

The smartphone is said to launch later this year on Sprint and no information is disclosed regarding its availability in India. However, the Samsung's ATIV S Neo is said to come at the cost of $150 (approx. Rs. 9,093).
