After the era of ICS update, now it is the time for firms to launch phones with Windows Tango update. Many of the mobile makers are out with the news of windows OS updates to their latest phones. The latest in the group is Dell and Samsung with their Dell Venue Pro and Samsung Omnia W models. Though there are many new additional features in common, each model has some unique features too coming along with this update.

It was quite surprising that a 2 year old Dell phone is getting the Windows update. This was one of the first windows phones to be out in the market. This update is expected to boost up the handset efficiency. However, reports suggest that Dell phone is not going to receive the Windows Phone 7.8 update. Though it is yet to be confirmed on which Windows OS version is being updated in Dell, but it good news that this 2 year old phone is getting the latest windows update finally.

Samsung Omnia W is the other phone to get Windows Tango update and the users have options to enjoy several new features with this update. As usual the phone has to be connected to a desktop computer so as to download and receive the new window update. The most notable change with this update is the ability to attach media files with the MMS.

There are new improvements like the exporting and importing of contacts from and to the phone. The performance improvements with the phone can also be experienced with this update. The internet sharing feature which Nokia promised for its windows phones won’t be available with this Samsung phone.

There were some other features mentioned with Nokia windows phones updates like extra camera feature including Smart Group Shot, Action Shot, Self Timer, and Panorama. A flip to silence feature was also mentioned. But there is confirmation on whether these features will be made available to Dell Venue Pro and Samsung Omnia W.

Dell Venue Pro and Samsung Omnia W users will surely receive the update notification in their phone. If not received, you can just connect the phone to the PC to download the updates which is available for free.
