Xiaomi Redmi 1S First Look and Hands On: Camera and Video

Xiaomi is surely offering a handset that falls in the budget segment. But that means it will have to cut down on a few specs to cover the cost. And the Chinese handset maker has opted for that in the camera offering for the Redmi 1S.

The Redmi 1S features an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with flash, alongside a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera. Heading deeper into the details, the handset's camera offers an extra large 1.4ųm sensor and a 5 plastic lens.

This means, you can take photos with accurate, true-to-life colors in low light. Although the truth of which we are yet to find out ourselves. But the company also claims that the handset's ƒ/2.2 aperture and 28mm wide angle lens will let you focus in on objects in the foreground while softly blurring the rest of the photograph.

At the front, you will find a 1.6 megapixel camera that has been perfected for HD video chatting at 720p. But more on the cameras and the modes inside it will come into open once we carry out a full review for the handset.
