Xiaomi Redmi 1S Review: Processor and Benchmark
For a handset that's priced as low as this, it's actually worng to expect world class specs inside. Yet Xiaomi looks to go the distance in offering the best that it possibly can with the Redmi 1S.
The Redmi 1S, we just have to say, has been fitted with top-quality hardware components. And this includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor that's clocked at 1.6GHz with an integrated Adreno 305 GPU. Users will also 1GB of RAM for applications, with 8GB of internal storage inside. Out of this, however, only 6.14GB is available to the user.
But then again, that doesn't mean you will abuse the built in RAM and storage to the point that it starts hanging every once in a while, and then you complain about how bad a handset it is. As long as you don't abuse the system with too many apps in the background, you should have any real issues.
As far as gaming is concerned, we did install a few titles such as Dead Trigger 2 and Angry Birds Go! And going by the quality that we found on the handset for the games, it's as good as you will get in a similar price range. By the way, we played both the titles in Ulta High settings, and it never looked like there are any such apparent issues to deal with.
As always, we are required to run a benchmarking app on the handset in order to understand its power management better. Running the AnTuTu Benchmarking app in the background, we found out that the handset scores a decent 19,828 points.
What this means is that with the system built inside it, the handset will indeed support large apps and won't have great issues with multi tasking. Both the RAM and the general 3D graphics also spoke well about the handset.
