The Micromax Canvas Nitro, which launched a day back in India, and the Xiaomi Redmi 1S, which unveiled earlier this month, are two of the most rated handsets you can buy in the Indian market.
To date, we believe that a low-end phone isn't capable enough, given its hardware internals. But, in case, of the Xiaomi Redmi 1S - it's completely opposite. The new launched Redmi 1S is selling like hot cakes in India, all thanks to its tempting price. The phone offers superb specs and features at just Rs. 5,990.
Meanwhile, there's a new phone from the house of Micromax, dubbed as Canvas Nitro, with uber cool hardware internals. While both the handsets are already made available in the Indian market, the specs for both devices holds off great promise.

Xiaomi overlays its own user interface (MIUI) on top of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The company has made some tweaks to make the UI highly customizable. Meanwhile, the Micromax Canvas Nitro is running on the latest version of Android (KitKat). The device comes pre-loaded with a number of useful pre-installed apps.

The Canvas Nitro, on the other hand, sports a big large 5-inch capacitive touch screen, with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. At the moment, the exact dimensions of the Canvas Nitro have not been made public.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S, in respect of camera, offers an 8-megapixel primary camera, sporting a pixel resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels, with autofocus and LED flash. There's also a front-facing 1.6-megapixel camera at the front.
The Micromax Canvas Nitro, on the other hand, sports a 13-megapixel primary camera, with LED flash. The device also has a secondary 5MP camera for taking high quality selfies.

Whereas the Redmi 1S comes in versions with 8GB of storage, and includes a microSD slot that lets you add up to 64GB, the Canvas Nitro will be available with 8GB of storage. It, too, features a microSD slot (although this supports only 32- rather than 64GB). The Redmi 1S offers 1GB of RAM. The Canvas Nitro, on the other hand, has a decent 2GB of RAM.

While the Xiaomi Redmi 1S offers a 2000 mAh battery, the LG L60 is powered by a slightly large 2500 mAh battery.

While the Xiaomi Redmi 1S is stuffed with a 1.6 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, the Canvas Nitro is powered by a 1.7 GHz tru Octa-Core processor under the hood.

While the Xiaomi Redmi 1S has been priced at Rs. 5,999, the Micromax-made Canvas Nitro has a price tag of Rs. 12,990.

It's no surprise that the Canvas Nitro has significantly faster hardware. But at the same time the retail price is relatively high, too. The Redmi 1S, on the other hand, offers fantastic hardware and software for just Rs. 5,990. Of course, the price difference the two devices seem to be huge. Ultimately, the final decision will depend on your budget and brand preference.
